THE GOLDEN AGE OF BIG BANDS CONTINUES”

New Year’s Eve was the official launch of the Northcoast Big Band’s long awaited 1st CD Album, AS TIME GOES BY,…The Golden Age of Big Bands Continues… The self-produced album features twenty of the band’s most requested Big Band favorites from its live performances throughout the region.

Band Leader Karl Dustman announced the release and sale of the album during the band’s New Year’s Eve performance at the Mohican Lodge and Conference Center Gala. CD’s began selling that evening throughout the band’s performance. “The response to the album has been wonderful with many compliments and praises on the tunes selected, recording quality and of course the band’s outstanding performance”, commented Karl.

The album includes selected tunes featuring the band’s professional vocalists Barbara Rosene and Jay Nye. The collection of classic big band favorites covers a time period of more than seven decades with a variety of different composers and arrangers including Jerry Gray, Glen Osser, Eddie Graff, Sammy Nestico and Jeff Hest.

The collection of big band classic is timeless, spanning so many years of music and generations that remember the songs, the bands that made the music popular and the vocalists that shared the spotlight.

The tunes showcased in this collection combine the past with the present through a perfect mixture of Broadway Show tunes, film music, iconic vocalist signature songs and new genres emerging regularly. There is something for everyone that loves the fullbodied sound of a professional Big Band.

This is the Big Band Music that captured the hearts and imagination of generations listening to their radios and dancing along with the famous Big Bands starting in the 1920’s. The listener will appreciate the artistic arrangements, featured wonderful vocalists and instrumental soloists all combining to carry on the Golden Age of Big Bands for the present,…and into the future.
